Monochrome Artist
Tomo SAKURAI
Born in Japan. Graduated from Yokohama College of Art and Design, and has been balancing body and mind by drawing pictures since her teens. In order to release bias and pursue the beauty of contrast, her art excretes in monochrome. Techniques of expression are mainly informel, minimalism, and installation. Her production philosophy is to make people aware of mesothece. With an exhibition at the Carrousel du Louvre (France) in 2022, started producing conceptual art that combines upcycling of bamboo and mourning dresses with contemporary art. She has exhibited and presented many works in Japan and abroad using a variety of techniques.
長野県生まれ。横浜美術大学卒業。10代より絵を描くことで心身のバランスを取る。バイアスの解放と対比の美を追求するため、モノクロームで芸術排泄する。表現手法は主にアンフォルメル、ミニマリズム及びインスタレーション(空間芸術)。メソテース(中庸)を意識させることが制作理念である。2022年カルーゼル・デュ・ルーヴル(フランス)での展示を機に、竹や喪服のアップサイクルと現代アートを結びつけたコンセプチュアルアート制作も開始。様々な手法で国内外数多くの発表を行なっている。
